LeafDoc Privacy
What LeafDoc Collects
Nothing is collected for accounts, advertising, or analytics. LeafDoc has no sign-up, no user profiles, no third-party ad or analytics SDKs, and no tracking identifiers.
Plant photos. When you request a diagnosis, the photo you chose is sent to our diagnosis service, where it is processed to identify the species and assess plant health. Photos are processed transiently to produce your result and are not used to build profiles about you.
Approximate location (optional). If you grant location access, your approximate area (city/region level) is used to tailor care advice to your local climate and season. Location is requested only while you use the app, is sent only with your diagnosis request, and is never stored on our servers. If you decline, everything still works — the advice is simply less localized.
Indoor/outdoor setting. Your last indoor/outdoor choice is remembered on your device only.
TestFlight transport notice. The current pre-release build connects to a private local-network test service over HTTP. It is limited to controlled testing and is not approved for public release or use on an untrusted network. A public release will require an authenticated HTTPS service before App Store submission.
Service Providers
To produce a diagnosis, LeafDoc uses:
Pl@ntNet (Agropolis Fondation / INRAE, France) — receives the plant photo to identify the species. See the Pl@ntNet privacy statement.
An AI vision service — receives the photo, the species result, and the optional climate context to produce the health assessment and care recommendations.
These providers process your request and return a result; we do not sell or share your data with anyone for marketing purposes.
What Stays On Your Device
Your photo library, camera captures, and preferences remain on your iPhone under iOS's standard protections. LeafDoc accesses only the individual photos you explicitly select or capture.
Children
LeafDoc is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
