DishDoc Privacy
What DishDoc Collects
Nothing is collected for accounts, advertising, or analytics. DishDoc has no sign-up, no user profiles, no third-party ad or analytics SDKs, and no tracking identifiers.
Links you share. When you share a video or web page to DishDoc, that link is sent to the recipe-extraction service, which fetches the publicly available post — its caption, page text, video, and audio — and processes it transiently to produce your structured recipe. The link and the resulting recipe are stored in your library on your device; the extraction service does not keep a copy or build profiles about you.
Photos you scan. When you scan a cookbook page or recipe card, the photos you captured are sent to the extraction service, processed transiently to read the recipe, and returned. The photos and the recipe are stored on your device only.
Nothing else leaves your iPhone. Your recipe library, collections, edits, notes, and grocery list are stored on your device and work entirely offline.
TestFlight transport notice. The current pre-release build connects to a private local-network test service over HTTP. It is limited to controlled testing and is not approved for public release or use on an untrusted network. A public release will require an authenticated HTTPS service before App Store submission.
Third-Party Content
Importing a recipe fetches content that the platform (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, or a website) already makes publicly available at the link you shared. DishDoc keeps the original link with each recipe so you can always return to the creator's post. Private posts cannot be imported.
What Stays On Your Device
Your photo library and camera captures remain on your iPhone under iOS's standard protections. DishDoc accesses only the individual pages you scan with the in-app camera, and only when you use that feature.
Children
DishDoc is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
