SpotDoc Privacy
What SpotDoc Collects
Nothing is collected for accounts, advertising, or analytics. SpotDoc has no sign-up we operate, no user profiles on our servers, no third-party ad or analytics SDKs, and no tracking identifiers.
Your spots and trips. The places you pin — names, notes, categories, photos you add, and the trips they belong to — are stored on your iPhone and, for syncing and sharing, in your own Apple iCloud account (via Apple's CloudKit). This data lives in your device and your iCloud; it is not stored on Dhamma Loop servers.
Sharing with family. When you share a trip, it is shared through Apple's CloudKit sharing to the specific people you invite. Those people can see and add to that trip's spots. Sharing is between your Apple iCloud accounts — we do not receive or hold the shared data.
Location. If you grant location access, your location is used on-device to show where you are on the map and to help find and place spots. It is used while you use the app and is not stored on our servers.
Maps. Maps, search, and directions use Apple Maps (MapKit). Map interactions are handled by Apple under Apple's privacy terms.
The AI Concierge
When you ask the concierge a question, your question and the text of the relevant saved spots (names, categories, notes) are sent over an encrypted connection to an AI service to generate suggestions. This information is processed transiently to produce your answer and is not used to build a profile about you. If you never use the concierge, nothing is sent.
Pre-release (TestFlight) transport notice. The current pre-release build connects to a private test AI service and is intended for controlled testing only. A public App Store release will use an authenticated service over HTTPS. This notice will be updated when the app is publicly released.
What Stays On Your Device
Your photo library and camera captures remain on your iPhone under iOS's standard protections. SpotDoc accesses only the individual photos you choose to attach to a spot, and only when you add them.
Children
SpotDoc is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
